Almost three years ago the Data Quality & Governance Journey was launched under the umbrella of the Data Strategy & Transformation Programme for the Lufthansa Group. The main objective is to set the foundation for the development towards a data-driven organisation. The Data Quality & Governance Journey is contributing to this objective by establishing data as corporate asset and thus making data usage more efficient. After having focused on developing the Data Quality & Governance framework for the Lufthansa Group now the attention has shifted towards the data user enablement, i.e. implementing the supporting tools to make Data Quality & Governance tangible. It’s been quite a way so far and it has not been straight forward. Therefore, we are pleased that the sown seed can be harvested and the new generation of crop is already en route.
Kiomi Soledad Spriestersbach has acquired a vast experience in working with data and building bridges between business and IT dating back to her academic education in business informatics. Her main objectives in driving the efficient and effective us of data became to break down data silos and build trust in data. Since almost three years she has been leading the transformation programme “Data Quality & Governance” providing guidelines and standards for the Lufthansa Group’s companies to be implemented in the complex organisational setup requiring particular collaboration and communication skills.
