In today’s data-driven enterprises, the need for reliable, scalable, and efficient data architectures cannot be overstated. This talk will take you through our transformative journey of constructing a powerful Delta Lakehouse using Azure Databricks, aimed at enhancing data governance and addressing the multifaceted requirements of modern organizations. We will delve into how we have utilized the robust capabilities of Azure Databricks to establish a unified data platform that seamlessly integrates batch and streaming analytics. By leveraging Delta Lake, we have significantly improved data reliability and performance, as well as instituted comprehensive data governance practices to ensure compliance and security. A focal point of our project involved navigating the complex requirements laid out by our Works Council, encompassing data privacy, employee consent, and transparency. We will share how we successfully addressed these challenges and maintained trust and collaboration throughout the process. Furthermore, the talk will highlight our integration with Microsoft PowerBI to create lean, dynamic dashboards and reports. These tools have empowered our decision-makers with actionable insights, drive strategic decisions, and foster a culture of data-driven excellence within our organization.
