Dr. Gerd Gröner ist seit 2019 Data Scientist Digital Transformation bei der Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH. In seiner Funktion begleitet er Machine Learning und Digitalisierungsprojekte hauptsächlich im Fertigungsbereich. Er sammelte bereits tiefe Kenntnisse als Solution Owner für den Bereich Machine Learning bei der Carl Zeiss Vision bis 2018. Zuvor arbeitete er über 3 Jahre als Software Entwickler, IT-Spezialist und Big Data-Analyst im Bereich MES und IT Shopfloor in der Unternehmensinformationstechnologie von Carl Zeiss Vision. Er befasste sich indes mit der Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung von MES und Shopfloor Systemen. Vor seiner Tätigkeit bei Carl Zeiss Vision arbeitete Dr. Gröner als Forscher und Projektleiter am Ruhr Institute for Software Technologies in Essen und am Institute for Web Science and Technologies (WeST) in Koblenz.
